RCMP in The Pas have confirmed that the body found in the community on Monday (Apr. 24) afternoon, is that of a man that was reported missing last month.

Mounties say the body of Jayden Mercredi was discovered near the Saskatchewan River, off of First Avenue East, though the cause of death has yet to be determined, as the autopsy results are pending.

The 22-year-old man was reported missing on the evening of March 8th, after he had not been in contact with his family since January.

The Pas RCMP continue to investigate, in cooperation with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
