The federal government is providing 11.4 million dollars for dairy industry research.

Agriculture minister Marie-Claude Bibeau made the announcement yesterday at the Dairy Farmers of Canada annual meeting in Saskatoon.

Joy Smith with SaskMilk says the support is good news for producers and consumers.

The total amount of research funding will reach 16.5 million dollars.
