Blue-Green Algae Being Found in Saskatchewan Waters

Blue-green algae have started showing up in Saskatchewan lakes and reservoirs due to the recent hot weather.

The Water Security Agency and Ministry of Health advising the public to avoid swimming in or drinking water where blooms are occurring.

In addition, caution should be taken when considering the consumption of fish or shellfish caught in areas where a bloom exists.

Pet owners and livestock producers are also advised to keep their animals away from such water.
