Jail time for Woman Charged After Estevan Drug Bust

Sentencing has been handed down, to a woman convicted in connection with a 2017 drug bust, in the Estevan area.

On June 21st, in Estevan Court of Queen’s Bench, the jury found 52-year-old Marion Ellson was guilty of Possession of both Carfentanil and Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, as well as Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Yesterday (TUES), she was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison.

Ellson was charged after a substance seized back in December of 2017, was found to contain carfentanil – a derivative of fentanyl, but one-hundred times more powerful.
