The City of Saskatoon has released more details on the fraud scheme that took them for more than 1 million dollars.
The fraudster was impersonating the C-F-O of Allan Construction when requesting to change banking information with the City last month.
Since the City became aware of the situation, they’ve been able to recover 40 thousand dollars.
Most of the funds stolen from the City have been frozen by court order, and the majority of the bank accounts involved have been identified as Canadian.
