A grain elevator in a small Saskatchewan community is coming down.
The grain elevator in Punnichy is 107 years old and demolition started today (Tues).
Mayor Lawrence Beyer says he’s thankful the elevator is being torn down rather than catching fire which has happened to other elevators in small-town Saskatchewan.
Beyer also says the owners are retiring to B.C. and could not find a buyer.
