Yorkton’s Terry Fox Run Gets an Organizer

There will be a Terry Fox Run in Yorkton on Sunday, September 15th, as one person has stepped up to the plate to help organize it.
Last year’s event was nearly cancelled, however, Roby Sharpe and the Yorkton Regional High School stepped in to hold the run.
Wynter Philip, the School and Communities Coordinator for the Saskatchewan branch of the Terry Fox Foundation, says Stephanie Bodnariuk will be creating a committee to help her get this event off the ground.
“There might be some help from the (Yorkton Regional) High School again this year, and there is a couple of repeat volunteers that have helped the last couple of years,” Philip noted. “But Stephanie is still looking for people to help with registration, the BBQ and the logistics of the day.”
While the location has yet to be confirmed, the Terry Fox website indicates registration will be at 12 p.m. with the 3 kilometre walk starting at 2 p.m.
If you’d like to volunteer call 1-(306)-757-1670 or visit www.terryfox.org.
