Rewards for Information on Two Cold Cases Renewed

The rewards for information on both the Tamra Keepness and Htoo/Maw triple homicide have been renewed by the Board of Police Commissioners.

Separate rewards of $50,000 will be given to anyone who has information that leads to solving both cold cases.

Mayor Michael Fougere said the Keepness search has been on since 2004, while the triple homicide investigation has been ongoing since 2010.

“We continue to get leads all the time, some of them very recently, and it’s important as there’s an incentive to have someone come forward that could actually break the case,” Fougere said. “You never know what’s going to happen in those discussions, so we think it’s an important incentive to be there.”

Fougere said there were many reasons to bring back the rewards.

“These are really important cases, as all are, but they’re high-profile cases, in the case of Tamra Keepness it has really been a high-profile crime that happened and we just need to solve that,” Fougere said. “It’s a good demonstration to the community that we continue to have this top of mind as well.”

Fougere said it’s important the families get closure.

“For our community, it is important to have closure, to know what happened, and really do everything we possibly can to make sure we find out who the perpetrators are and bring them to justice.”

Police say they receive tips monthly, particularly with the Keepness case, and investigate each one.
