DEEP Earth Energy Production is currently taking part in their 2019-2020 winter drilling and testing program.
The company is looking to build Canada’s first geothermal power plant near Torquay, in the southeast corner of the province.

Spokesperson Kirsten Marcia says they’re planning to drill up to five wells in the area by the end of February, with two already completed, and work on the third well is currently underway.

Full-sized production wells are planned to be drilled later this year and in 2021
