Prime minister Justin Trudeau says Canada has been fortunate so far in not having seen a drastic spike in the number of cases of COVID-19.
In an effort to slow the spread, he announced a billion dollar COVID-19 response fund.
500 million dollars will go to provinces and territories to deal with mitigating the virus.
Trudeau adds no one should have to worry about their job if quarantined and an employer shouldn’t feel like they have to lay off a worker because of it.
