The city of Yorkton announced that they are restricting access to city hall and all city facilities, effective immediately.
Staff will continue working onsite to keep essential public services operational.
Mayor Bob Maloney states this is an effort to protect city employees as well as the public.
Interest on all city accounts will be deferred until June 30th.
This will include property taxes, water bills and general accounts receivable.
Mayor Maloney advises residents, “Remember that this is a tax deferral, and bills will still need to be paid to ensure the City’s essential services are maintained going forward.”
Bill payments may be dropped off in the mail slot in the entrance way to City Hall or paid online.
Garbage and recycling pickup, as well as Yorkton transit will continue to operate as usual.
All sub-committees of Council meetings have been cancelled until further notice.
