The Supreme Court of Canada won’t hear the appeal of a young man who killed four people and injured seven others in a mass shooting in La Loche in 2016.
The now 22-year-old Randan Fontaine was just two weeks shy of turning 18 when he killed his two cousins at a home there, before opening fire at his school, killing a teacher and a teacher’s aide.
Saskatchewan’s Court of Appeal rejected his bid last year to be sentenced as a youth, and he wanted the Supreme Court to revisit the ruling.
