Beef and pork producers continue to look at huge losses, even with a 252-million dollar assistance program announced yesterday by the federal government. The federal government will fund 60 percent of the livestock set-a-side program. That is far less than the 2.6 billion dollars requested by the Canadian Federation of Agriculture or the 20 dollars per hog by the Canadian Pork Council.
