Dauphin RCMP responded to a structure fire on Friday night (Feb. 12).

Mounties were told upon arriving at the scene, on 2nd Avenue NE in Dauphin, that it was believed someone was still inside.

After the fire was extinguished, firefighters found a 59-year-old man who was pronounced deceased.

No other injuries were reported and the fire is believed to be accidental, but Mounties and the Office of the Fire Commissioner continue to investigate.
