A zero percent tax increase was announced by the city of Yorkton last night. Mayor Mitch Hippsley states that a big factor in making this possible was the city receiving 975-thousand dollars in funding from the provincial and federal governments. The zero percent tax increase also fulfills a promise made by the mayor and several city councilors during the civic election.
