Ste. Rose RCMP Investigating an Attempted Robbery

Mounties are investigating an attempted carjacking in Ste. Rose du Lac.

Just before noon yesterday (THURS), police say a 71-year-old man, who was shopping at a business on Central Avenue, returned to his vehicle, and while sitting in the front seat, was approached by a man armed with a firearm, who opened the door, and threatened the driver, demanding he get out of the vehicle.

The victim was able to push away the suspect, who took off on foot.

The victim escaped injury, and described the suspect as an Indigenous man, between 22 and 25 years of age, standing about 5’4″ tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with brown eyes, and short dark hair, and he was wearing a black sweater, black pants, and a black mask.
