Workers for Manitoba Hydro are on a general strike that began this afternoon (Tue).

After rejecting the Crown Corporation’s final contract offer, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2034 announced that 23-hundred workers across the province will walk off the job.

The strike started at 1:30 Manitoba time and will last until 8 a.m. Manitoba time on Thursday.

IBEW stated the rejected offer spanned from 2019-2022, had no wage increase for the first two years, then a 0.75 percent increase the third year and a 1% increase in 2022.
