The Saskatchewan Health Authority says drive-thru and walk-in vaccine clinics that were planned for several communities, including Yorkton, will open sooner than anticipated.
This is because of an earlier than expected delivery of more than 55-thousand doses of Astra-Zeneca vaccines to the province between today (Thurs) and April 7.
The quantity includes more than 45-thousand from the United States that is arriving today.
Yorkton’s drive-thru site will open on Tuesday, April 6, though the location was not included in the news release, on the SHA’s website. Health Minister Paul Merriman said, in Thursday’s news conference, that the exact locations of clinics will be announced in the coming days.
Other communities include Regina, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Weyburn, Swift Current, Prince Albert, Lloydminster and North Battleford. Dates of when clinics open in these communities can be found on the SHA’s website.
The SHA says these clinics will be open for people 55-and-older.
