The National Advisory Committee on Immunization gave the okay for the Johnson and Johnson Jansen COVID-19 vaccine.

Chair of NACI Dr. Shelley Deeks notes that the Jansen vaccine has a similar recommendation as the Astra-Zeneca vaccine, and is suggested to be used for individuals 30-and-older.

The single dose Jansen vaccine can be stored at regular refrigerated temperatures, and preliminary studies so that it is effective against certain COVID variants of concern.
