Bench Warrant Issued After Man Charged in Connection to Vehicle Theft Fails to Appear in Court

An update on court proceedings for two people charged with the theft of a vehicle late last year.

On Christmas Eve, Regina Police spotted a maroon-coloured Ford Edge that was reported stolen from Broadview, and officers tailed the two suspects, arresting them both without incident, once they left the vehicle.

21-year-old Joshua Nippi and 33-year-old Tracey Jimmy were both charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over Five-Thousand Dollars, with Jimmy also charged with Breach of Probation.

In Regina Provincial Court last month, the charges against Jimmy were stayed, though a bench warrant remains in effect for him on separate matters.

Nippi failed to show up for his court date yesterday (WED), and a bench warrant was issued for him as well.
