Indian Head RCMP updated the serious motor vehicle collision they responded to last night (Fri), at the Highway 1 and 35 junction, east of Qu’Appelle.

RCMP say an eastbound semi and a northbound pickup truck collided, resulting in both vehicles going off the road and stopping in the ditch south of the Number One Highway.

The driver and lone occupant of the pickup – a 74-year-old man – was declared deceased at the scene, while the driver of the semi did not sustain any injuries.

The highway has since reopened and no charges are anticipated.
