Ottawa Tops Up Funding For Hay West

The federal government is investing 4 million dollars to help the Canadian Federation of Agriculture cover the cost of shipping feed from eastern regions to drought-stricken western producers. The feed is coming through the Hay West program, which has already seen 5 1/2 million pounds shipped. Federal agriculture minister Marie-Claude Bibeau also says the Agri-Recovery fund was activated, and urges farmers to adopt sustainable practices.
