Province removing Russian products from SLGA liquor stores

The Saskatchewan government confirmed it is pulling Russian liquor products as a way to show disapproval of that country’s invasion of Ukraine.

The government is removing Russian products from its distribution centre and SLGA shelves, effective immediately, and is also encouraging private liquor stores to do the same.

This is in addition to steps taken by the province to support Ukraine.

That includes a $100-thousand donation to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, prioritizing Ukrainian applications for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, and waiving long distance and text message charges from Canada to Ukraine for SaskTel customers and roaming charges for those in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian flag is also flying outside the Legislative Building.
