The Saskatchewan government has confirmed 2 outbreaks of bird flu in a backyard and commercial flock. The affected locations are the R.M of Moose Mountain near Carlyle, and the RM of Loreburn near Elbow. Biosecurity protocols, include keeping wild birds away from poultry flocks and their food and water supply, limiting visitors and monitoring bird health, are in place. Health officials also note there is no risk top food safety, and the risk of transmission to humans is low.
