Speeding was SGI’s traffic safety focus for March, and 5 thousand tickets were handed out. Among them were 285 were for speeding in school zones, 190 tickets for exceeding the speed limit by 35 km/h, and 25 for going 50 over the limit. Police also handed out 358 impaired driving offences, 434 distracted driving tickets and 285 for seatbelt infractions. April’s traffic safety focus is on suspended drivers and unregistered vehicles.
