The Federal Government has tabled a number of new measures related to firearms, which includes taking away the firearms licenses of those involved in acts of domestic violence or harassment and increasing criminal penalties. Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says that though he is against portions of the new legislation, he does favour of increasing fines and penalties for property crimes, including those with gun use. The new measures would also create a new “red flag” law that would see those considered a danger to themselves or others surrender their firearms to police.
