The Saskatchewan Health Authority and Emmanuel Health announced the unexpected death of a Melville family physician.

Dr Shahriar Jalali Mazlouman had been practicing at the Melville Medical Clinic since July 2021 after completing his Saskatchewan International Physician Practice Assessment placement in Yorkton.

Dr Mazlouman also provided ER coverage at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre and provided physician services in Ituna one day per week.

As a result of his death, some health-care services in Melville may see a temporary disruption. ER Service at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville is temporarily unavailable as of 8 a.m. today until 8 a.m. tomorrow. Anyone needing emergency services during this period of disruption will need to go to Yorkton, Esterhazy, Fort Qu’Appelle, or Moosomin.
