Freeland Visits Sask.

Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister was in the province yesterday, as part of her so called summer tour to “get out of Ottawa”. Chrystia Freeland started her day by seeing how Mosaic’s potash mine operates just outside of Colonsay before visiting with Saskatoon Mayor Charlie Clark and seeing the newly established Baba’s Closet, a community organization that supports Ukrainian families by providing essential items. This comes as provincial immigration minister, Jeremy Harrison and the SaskParty government would like to see more autonomy when it comes to welcoming Ukrainians fleeing the war to Saskatchewan.
