A new Saskatchewan Youth Council has been named ahead of the new school year.

The council consists of 12 students in Grades 10-12, who will provide their insights to the Ministry of Education to help shape the future of education in the province.

Locally, Isabelle Easton of Saltcoats and Josie Lockert of Vibank were selected for the council.

This is the fourth year that Saskatchewan has had a youth council, and they will meet for the first time in September.
