Melville, Saskatchewan’s Terry Puhl will step onto the field tonight in Houston to deliver the ceremonial first pitch of the World Series.
The Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer had a 15-year career in the MLB, playing 14 seasons with Houston before wrapping up his pro career with the Kansas City Royals.
In his 1,531 career games, Puhl had a .280 batting average, 62 home runs and 435 RBIs.
Puhl was also a key contributor in the 1980 NLCS for the Astros, when they faced the eventual World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies.
The Melville product also served as manager for the Canadian national team.
