The Churchbridge Food Hamper Program received a $1-thousand donation, thanks to proceeds from the sale of GX94 Christmas Goodies Cookbooks.

Churchbridge Mayor Bill Johnston says it was a generous donation, and much appreciated. He says the donation will allow them to provide 11 food hampers to local individuals and families this season, adding for the 3rd year in a row they’ve experienced an increase in demand.

Johnston says it also comes at a time when they’re relying on corporate donations this year, as individual donations have decreased slightly.

The Food Hamper Program is coordinated by staff at the Churchbridge Credit Union as well as the Town of Churchbridge office.
