The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American running back Rodney Smith.

Smith initially signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft and played seven games that season, recording 41 carries for 156 yards and one touchdown.

The Georgia native split the 2021 season on the practice squads of the Panthers, Tennessee Titans, and Detroit Lions.

Before that, Smith played five collegiate seasons at the University of Minnesota
