It was a special night on Saturday night in Wadena, as the hometown Wildcats captured their first ever Senior hockey provincial title after beating the Carlyle Cougars 3-2 on Saturday night in Game 2 of their Best of 3 Senior “B” Final.
The Wildcats outshot the Cougars 39-22 in the game and got goals from Andrew Schaab, Torrie Dyck and Shain Scheschuk as they won their first provincial title in their 77 year history.
Congrats to the entire Wadena Wildcats organization and the town of Wadena on the win.
Wadena will now shift their focus to their Long Lake Hockey League championship series which continues on Tuesday night in Davidson as they look to stay alive taking on the Cyclones in Game 3 of their Best of 5 series.
