Whitewood’s Reese Hamilton and the Saskatoon Blazers are 2023 league champions.

Hamilton chipped in with 1G 1A to help the Blazers beat the Regina Pat Canadians 8-0 on Thursday night to capture the Best of 5 Sask. Male U18 AAA Hockey league championship in 5 games.

“It’s an amazing accomplishment to win your province, it was a grueling series but glad were able to come out on top,” Hamilton said in a phone interview this morning (Fri).

The Blazers trailed the series 2-1, before winning back to back including a 4-3 road win in Game 4 to win it all.

Hamilton, who was named a first team league All-Star had 8 points in 11 playoff games for Saskatoon who now advance to the 2023 Telus Cup West Regionals running from April 6-9 in Warman, Saskatchewan
