CUPE Worried About Cuts To Saskatchewan Universities And Colleges

Cuts to Saskatchewan universities and colleges is raising red flags with CUPE.

In a news release from CUPE, the Sask Party government is cutting university funding this year by more than three-percent.

This includes a decrease in operating grant funding at the University of Saskatchewan of 15.5-million dollars or 5.6-percent, while the University of Regina is seeing a 5.5-million dollar cut or 4.8-percent.

CUPE says the cuts could lead to job losses at the universities and tuition hikes.
