156 acres of Crown mineral rights are being transferred to the Ocean Man First Nation.

Minister of First Nations, Metis and Northern Affairs, Don McMorris, says the transfer will help grow of First Nation communities, and support ongoing economic reconciliation.

With the acquisition of the new land, Ocean Man will be able to create additional employment opportunities and economic development in the mining, oil and gas, business and agriculture sectors.

The transfer abides by the terms of a Memorandum of Agreement signed by the governments of Canada and Saskatchewan in 2000.
