May 5th is the national day to honour murdered and missing Indigenous Women and Girls, also known as “Red Dress Day.”
To raise awareness of those missing, and honour those lost, the Yorkton Tribal Council is holding a memorial walk tomorrow.
The event starts at 9 a.m., at the teepee at the YTC office, located at 63 King Street, with opening prayers and a pipe ceremony.
The memorial honour walk itself is set to begin at 10:30, leaving from the YTC office, and heading to City Centre Park, where a free lunch and testimonial speakers will follow.
