The potential sale of the property and moving of the Yorkton Public Library was met by a lot of pushback.
Every person in the overflowing council chambers who presented was in opposition of the move, which surprised mayor Mitch Hippsley.
Hippsley states that the city is entertaining the offer to help save residents tax dollars.
While the name of the company who put forward the offer cannot be named, due to provincial legislation, the city did receive an offer of roughly 1.5-million dollars.
Opposition to the move included concerns based around accessibility, insufficient parking and reduction in library size.
Hippsley did note the sale of the Yorkton Public Library is not final.
