Manitoba Youth Charged With First Degree Murder Makes First Court Appearance

A north central Manitoba boy charged with First Degree Murder, made his first court appearance in Yorkton today.

The 17-year-old, whose name can’t be released due to his age, was remanded in custody for his next court date on Friday.

On February 10th, RCMP were called to a home in the Esterhazy/Stockholm area, where three males allegedly broke in and stole firearms, a significant amount of ammunition, and the home owner’s vehicle, which was later found burned a short distance away.

Upon arrival, Mounties found a 34-year-old man shot dead, and a woman had to be taken to hospital for medical treatment.
