It was a great opening of his first full year of professional hockey for Yorkton’s Jackson Berezowski as he was named ECHL Player of the Week.

Berezowski, who is under contract with AHL’s Toronto Marlies, scored three goals – including a pair of game-winning tallies – and added four assists for seven points in three games against Reading during the opening weekend of the season.

The 21 year old also netted his 1st professional goal on Friday night against childhood friend Nolan Maier.
