A man charged following a traffic stop in Dauphin, that resulted in the seizure of a homemade weapon, was in Dauphin Court yesterday (Tue).
On the evening of June 13th, RCMP spotted a vehicle speeding northbound on Main Street, and pulled it over, findng two men inside, along with strong smell of alcohol and a large bag of unmarked cigarettes.
The driver failed a roadside alcohol screening test, and Mounties also discovered a homemade gun with a bayonet attached within the vehicle, along with used and unused ammunition, several cell phones, and a quantity of cash.
The driver, 37-year-old Christopher Bilay of Dauphin, faces a lengthy list of charges, and he remains in custody, to return to Dauphin Court November 21st.
