Manitoba is increasing the outflow from the Shellmouth Reservoir.
It’s part of the normal operation to draw down the level of the dam in preparation for spring runoff from the upper Assiniboine River.
Yesterday (Wed), the outflow was increased from 100 cubic feet per second to 200 cubic feet per second, and today (Thu), it’ll be raised to 300 cubic feet per second.
This will result in an increase in water levels by one-and-a-half to two feet on the Assiniboine River from the Shellmouth Dam to Russell, and by one to one-and-a-half feet from Russell to Brandon.
