Dec. 4th Melville City Council Highlights

City of Melville recently received a letter from the Saskatchewan RCMP

The Saskatchewan RCMP in a letter to Melville City council say they’ll be reallocating funds from vacant position in Melville to a different detachment area that has more significant volume of calls for service.

Melville mayor Walter Streelasky says he understands that policing recruitment & retaining is a problem across the province.

Streelasky adds they’re always appreciative the protective work the RCMP does in the the Melville & area on a daily basis


Change of day coming for recycling and garbage pickup starting next month for residents in the City of Melville.

The City of Melville in conjunction with OSS Waste Disposal have announced there’ll be a change to recycling and garbage pickup in the city in the New Year.

The new regular scheduled pick ups for both recycling and trash will be moving from Fridays to every Monday, beginning Jan. 8th, 2024 with the last regular scheduled Friday pickup being Dec. 29th, 2023.

Successful year for 2022/23 City of Melville Parks & Recreation

The City of Melville’s Director of Community Services says 2023 was a successful one for their Parks & Recreation department

During his report, Chris Bruce says there were a few projects in particular that they were able to accomplish including the Kinsmen Park Ball diamond removal and the building of Disc Golf signs

Bruce also adds that sponsorship revenue inside the CN Community Center increased by 42% in 2023 & it projects a 20 percent increase next year.
