I met with Mavis Watson who is in charge of Filling the Gap in Canora, this holiday season. GX94 gave her a cheque for $1,000.00 to help with the cost of making those Christmas Hampers. I met Mavis last year at this time when she was able to come to the GX94 studio. It was nice this year getting to make the trip to Canora and see where the magic happens.

She gave me a tour of where they fill the boxes, and said she will be running right up to Christmas making and delivering the boxes. She’s thankful for all of the donations that have come in making this effort possible. She said that the amount of requests for Christmas Hampers has doubled this year, and she is getting calls from a lot of new people.

We were able to make this donation thanks to the Gateway Co-op in Canora. It’s the second year that they have had me at their store to sell the GX94 Christmas Goodies cookbooks. Huge thank you to them!
Last year I remember getting to meet a listener from Buchanan. I had spoken with her on the phone many times, but this was the first time I got to meet her in person! This year, a listener from Canora stopped by to pick up her cookbooks and bring me some of her baking! Look at how delicious this looks! It tasted just as good!
