First things first, let’s talk about the appearance. These cupcakes are the perfect way to pick a team! Half and half for people to pledge allegiance to their favourite team, with some colour-coordinated sprinkles. You put a cute little flag in the corner, and last but not least, a tiny edible football right in the center. It’s like a tiny sporty masterpiece! But let’s not forget about the taste, because that’s what really matters, right? These cupcakes are moist, fluffy, and oh-so-delicious.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “But how can I make these delightful treats?” Well, fear not my friends, because I’m here to help! Below is the recipe I swear by. It’s super easy to follow and guaranteed to make your taste buds do a touchdown dance!

Ingredients:

  • 1 box devil’s food cake mix (plus water, oil, and eggs for the mix)
  • 1 container whipped fluffy white frosting
  • Paste food colour (gel food colouring works just as well)
  • Star sprinkles (sprinkles that match the team colours work as well)
  • 1 tube white decorator icing
  • 24 milk chocolate covered almonds
  • 4 rolls of Fruit By The Foot, any flavour
  • 24 thin pretzel sticks

Instructions:

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or non-stick pans). Place paper baking cups in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups.
  2. Make and bake cake mix as directed on box for cupcakes, using water, oil and eggs. Cool 10 minutes; remove cupcakes from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely.
  3. Divide frosting between 2 small bowls. To create your favourite team colours, add desired food colour to each bowl and stir until thoroughly blended.
  4. Frost cupcakes; sprinkle with stars. For footballs, pipe laces on almonds with decorating icing. Cut triangles from the fruit snacks. Wrap each triangle around 1 end of each pretzel for flag. Decorated each cupcake with 1 football and 1 flag.

And voila! You’ve just made your very own Game Day Cupcakes! Now, all that’s left to do is enjoy the game while indulging in these scrumptious treats. Trust me, they’re the perfect game-day companion!

So, who’s ready for a taste of victory? Whip up a batch of these Big Game Cupcakes and let the festivities begin! Don’t forget to share your creations and let me know how they turned out. And most importantly, enjoy the American Grey Cup and may the best team win! Go team!
