Local group presents wheelchairs and accessories to Yorkton Waterpark

An initiative spearheaded by Yorkton resident Cindy van Eeden, has resulted in the donation of equipment to make the Access Communications Waterpark, at the Gallagher Centre, more accessible to all.

With the money secured by Cindy and numerous friends and organizations, they were able to purchase two brand-new wheelchairs and wheelchair straps, to donate to the waterpark.

Van Eeden was inspired to get involved, in part, in memory of her son Connor, who faced challenges in accessing recreation opportunities, due to physical and cognitive limitations.

In a release, Waterpark Supervisor Graham Erickson says the donation will help the City to fulfill its mission of increasing accessibility, while making the pool more convenient for all residents.
