Taking care of those brown eyes, baby.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a little story with you all about how I recently strained one of my eyes and let me tell you, it was not fun at all. I couldn’t focus on anything, looking at screens was unbearable, and even the slightest bit of light hurt. It was a wake-up call for me to take better care of my eyes, and I wanted to share some tips with you all so you can avoid going through what I did.

  1. Take breaks from screens: In this digital age, we are constantly staring at screens, whether it’s our phones, computers, or TVs. Make sure to take regular breaks to give your eyes a rest. The 20-20-20 rule is a good one to follow – every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
  2. Adjust your screen settings: Make sure your screen brightness isn’t too high and that the contrast is comfortable for your eyes. You can also adjust the text size and color to make it easier on your eyes.
  3. Blink often: When we stare at screens, we tend to blink less, which can lead to dry eyes and strain. Make a conscious effort to blink more often to keep your eyes lubricated. My eye doctor actually gave me some artificial tears to use when they get really dry.
  4. Use proper lighting: Make sure you have adequate lighting when you are working or reading. Avoid glare from windows or overhead lights, as this can strain your eyes.
  5. Get regular eye exams: It’s important to get your eyes checked regularly to catch any problems early on. Your eye doctor can also give you tips on how to keep your eyes healthy.

I hope these tips help you take better care of your eyes and avoid any unnecessary strain. Remember, our eyes are precious and we need to take care of them. Let’s all make an effort to give our eyes the love and care they deserve.

Take care and stay healthy!
