We took the kids sledding this weekend. It was fun for the first part, but really wasn’t the best weekend to go. There was tons of snow, yes, with then a layer of ice over everything. Super slippery walking to the hill, and up the hill (the kids loved that, mom and dad, not so much). Hard bumpy snow to slide down on (the kids loved that, mom was starting to get worried). And then the accident happened.

I gave the 3 year old a starting push (first time of the day) and of course that was the time he really falls off the sled. Any other day it probably would have been fine, just a face full of snow. But this weekend, nope, his face bounced right off the snow because it was so hard. I mean, we are very lucky he didn’t slid on his face, the one bump was enough to make him bleed. He’s a champ though, a total trooper. Yes, there were tears but when we got him all cleaned up he was more excited to show off his battle wounds.
