Hey friends! 🌟 So, I finally watched the movie “Crossroads” for the first time, and let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the cast is stacked! Britney Spears, Zoe Saldana, Taryn Manning, Kim Cattrall, Dan Ackroyd, and Justin Long is even in there for a little bit. Second, the soundtrack is *chef’s kiss* fantastic. Don’t get me wrong, there could have been more country, but I love a good mix. Third, the movie itself is written by THE Shonda Rhimes, who would later go on to create Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and Bridgerton. 😱

I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what to expect when the movie started, Britney Spears dancing in her underwear certainly was not it. 😳 But once the movie got going I was actually surprised at how much I could relate to her character, Lucy. Drifting apart from her childhood friends, studying hard and getting good grades, not attending football games or parties, and being raised by a single parent…that’s all just like me!

Although, I never had the chance to go on a cross country road trip with my friends like Lucy did in the movie, I can’t help but think that going on such an adventure would be absolutely exhilarating! I even feel some wanderlust imagining the open road stretching out before me. 🚗💨

Did the movie win any Oscars? No, but it’s got a lot of heart. Yes it’s cheesy, but in the best way possible. It’s really just a fun movie about finding yourself and your passions, while staying true to your friends. But, for real though, don’t actually go on a cross-country road trip with a man you just met, no matter how cute he is. 🙃
