The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation and the University of Saskatchewan have announced a $2 million investment over five years to enhance pediatric education and research.
This largest-ever investment by JPCHF will establish the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation Pediatric Research Fund at USask’s College of Medicine.
The fund will support Dr. Terry Klassen, the new Provincial Pediatric Department Head, in advancing pediatric care and research throughout Saskatchewan.
“This partnership will support exceptional pediatric healthcare in Saskatchewan,” said Peter Stoicheff, USask President. Brynn Boback-Lane, JPCHF President and CEO, emphasized the fund’s potential to transform health outcomes through innovative research.
Dr. Marilyn Baetz, Interim Dean at USask’s College of Medicine, praised the collaboration, highlighting Dr. Klassen’s role in pioneering pediatric healthcare. Dr. Klassen aims to enhance pediatric services across the province, ensuring seamless care for children and families.
This initiative marks a significant step forward in improving pediatric health in Saskatchewan through dedicated research and education.
